The Lost Sadhanas Project: White Tara
The Paradise of Fragrant Flowers and Jeweled Sands

In the form that I appear to many seekers, my focus is on devotion rather than yoga. Thus, I have devotees rather than yogis or tantrikas. I do not use the image of people climbing a mountain, organizing worldly status, or developing supernatural powers. My metaphor is family, those that care for each other and return to my paradise as home.

For souls who are kind and generous but also wise and capable, my land of fragrant flowers has all loves. Each grain of sand on my beach of eternity is a world containing all that the soul loves. It may be persons, places, even animals that fill each jeweled grain of sand. The experience of love may last for a day or an eternity.

Souls come here when their spiritual love has not been fully expressed in their various incarnations. Here is infinite love. This is the clay from which my paradise is made. All things dwell in that love as a fish lives in water.

Of course, personal happiness is not the ultimate goal of a Buddhist paradise. As love is shared and expressed, the soul is strengthened, and it becomes capable of holding greater and greater degrees of compassion. Eventually, that love for all sentient beings turns the person into a bodhisattva, ready to go out and save the world from suffering. But such a bodhisattva will have a special relationship with me, and all joys and sorrows will be shared.

When earthly Buddhism chose the path of mind, it rejected heart and focused on debate and argument. Thus body, mind, and heart became focused on speech and not love. Buddhism could thus absorb yoga and tantra through the use of mantra.

The older Mahayana tradition never converted. We welcome instead of fight or compete.

My jeweled sands hold those souls who love and care for other souls instead of negating them. My chimes call them forth.

We now move on to topics associated with the Bodhisattva Maitreya.
